Geoff Parkins
Managing Director
One of my first memories is watching live pictures as Armstrong stepped onto the moon. It was something momentous: the people involved used technology to achieve the impossible. I think that was the start of my fascination with technology, and how it enables and empowers us.
I’ve worked alongside computers at all levels. I was the de facto expert in the days of one computer in an office of 20, and now provide full-time in B2B IT support at Flex IT. The thing that I’ve found most rewarding is helping other people leverage technology; to learn and grow; to achieve their own moon landings.
Outside of work, I’m something of a DIY-er – I have a cement mixer in my garage and an excessive array of tools for my car. I also enjoy modern jive partner dance, which offers an interesting parallel: just like in business, when the enthusiasm, experience and creativity of two partners come together, that's when the magic happens.
Jamie
Technical Director
From a young age I have always been fascinated with computers and how they are central to almost everything we do today.
As Technical Director at Flex IT, I look after the technical aspects of our clients and our internal operations. Core tasks include building, and managing projects, supplying a backbone to the support team, and maintaining and developing our clients IT infrastructure to enable their business to thrive.
Having worked in both internal and external support roles for a range of business sizes, from a company with 2 systems to a global company with 100 times that I understand the key role the IT department and how important the people side of IT really is, being that friendly trusted face.
My time outside of work is prioritised by spending time with my wife and young child enjoying the chaos a young family brings. We are often out walking with our spaniel somewhere with lots of mud and water exploring the great outdoors. If I’m not ankle depth in mud you’ll usually find me behind my drum kit.
Rob
IT Support Engineer
I moved to England in 2008 and after trying a few different career options I began working in IT in 2015. I'd always enjoyed computers and video games growing up, so when I built my own gaming computer and it worked, I thought maybe a career in IT could be for me!
Since doing an IT apprenticeship, I have worked with many different technologies and services, and I have specialised in monitoring client infrastructures and helping clients with any issues they may have. My role at Flex as IT Support Engineer means I get involved in all levels of support, as well as assisting Jamie with project work. I am also one of Flex’s VMWare specialists.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing guitar as well as playing video, card and board games. I am a big motorsport fanatic, I take part in the Armed Forces Kart Championship (Endurance class) which races all over the country. I enjoying head banging to rock music, and going for walks with my wife Sadie, our son Tav, and our dog Ozzy.”
